The World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading independent conservation organisation has appointed Medialab Group as its media partner as they look to radically rethink their approach to Events and Community Fundraising.

For more than 50 years, WWF have been at the forefront of global efforts to protect wildlife and the natural world. While in that time significant victories have been won, our planet’s health signs are weak and the loss of nature is accelerating at an alarming rate. To win the war, more needs to be done, both here in the UK and globally.

WWF-UK have appointed Medialab to focus specifically on the Events and Community Fundraising activity. Along with growing a national events programme, the charity is aiming to help local communities across the UK develop and grow grassroots support through new events and campaigns. WWF-UK were looking to establish a relationship with a marketing and media partner who could demonstrate particular experience and expertise in charity events media planning and buying, to optimise consumer awareness and penetration for their various events.

Commenting on the appointment, Louise Oakley, Director of Events and Community Fundraising at WWF-UK said “Medialab really impressed us with their effort, commitment and expertise in the process and in identifying what we want to achieve in the next few years. We were looking for an agency who will guide us, challenge us and offer strategic expertise and insight and we felt Medialab will absolutely do this to help achieve our goals”

Chief Executive Officer of Medialab, Marcus Orme, commented “To have the opportunity to work with a partner who are a fighting a cause that affects each of us, every day, now and in the future is an incredible privilege. It’s also something that we as a team are passionate about and cannot wait to get started. We are looking forward to supporting WWF-UK and their ambitions for growth”.
