Medialab invests in an abundance of talent

Having experienced another strong year of growth, Medialab has bolstered the team with a series of key hires, highlighting an ongoing commitment to investing in their talent and digital product offering. This growth is evidenced by the two consecutive years of being the fastest growing media agency (Source: Nielsen). In the last year alone, 15 new client wins, including Mind, WWF-UK, RNLI, and Zopa, have played a part in fuelling this growth, despite the challenges faced by the industry during the pandemic.

Lisa Meiklejohn joins Medialab as Director of Digital Strategy and Development from Essence, where she was Business Director on the L’Oreal account and Digital Activation Director. Lisa brings extensive experience within multiple digital channels across brand, performance and commerce, and works passionately across a range of verticals.

With a strong track record of developing innovative digital strategies for clients, Lisa will support Elle Hill, Medialab’s recently appointed Director of Digital Performance. Elle brings a wealth of digital expertise from her senior leadership roles at Performix and Merkle Periscopix, and both Elle and Lisa will continue driving outstanding digital delivery for Medialab’s growing client partner base across Financial Services, FTC and the Charity Sector, whilst continuing to build transparent relationships with key media and martech partners.

Alongside these key senior hires, this summer, Medialab launched its first Digital Bootcamp, bringing in a new wave of ambitious, fresh entry-level talent through a training scheme with a view to permanent roles at the end. Eight successful applicants, all paid above London living wage, joined the business in August and have embarked on an intensive 3-month training scheme. They will become fully qualified with Google Search Certification and be immersed in comprehensive, specialist training, run by internal channel experts and external partners, including the IPA, YouGov and Facebook.

This launch sees the first of many similar Bootcamps in the future where lack of experience is no barrier and also supports our ambitious growth plans to bring in bright, diverse digital talent from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life.

Commenting on the new hires, Chief Executive Officer of Medialab, Marcus Orme, said “It’s no surprise that the success of our recent growth is supported by our investment in talent – we are a people first company, and always will be. We are devoting time and attention to training and development of digital talent and capabilities, as recognised by our second consecutive IPA Gold accreditation. Our exciting growth journey continues, and as part of that, we are creating more opportunity than ever for passionate digital and data driven individuals who are keen to join a growing data-centric company”.
