Independent media agency and charity specialist, Medialab, has promoted Alf Cowan to the newly created role of Head of Charity.
Cowan joined Medialab 8 years ago as a charity specialist, bringing his wealth of experience from his time in-house at Friends of the Earth and leading fundraising acquisition at Shelter. Alf has been instrumental in driving successful fundraising and awareness growth for charity partners, working closely with organisations such as Alzheimer’s Society and the RNLI, and being central to Medialab’s growth within the charity sector. Recent agency wins include Marie Curie and Save the Children.
Cowan’s new role will enable him to leverage his experience to deliver award winning growth and innovation in the sector. As part of his role, Cowan will channel his expertise to provide thought leadership, strategic and consultative services for charities.
Cowan said: “I’m thrilled to step into the role of Head of Charity at Medialab. My career ambition has always been to raise as much money and awareness for important causes that I believe in. Being at the UK’s leading independent media agency and the leaders in Charity media space, I don’t think there’s a better place to be to achieve that. I’m looking forward to leading even more award-winning work and record breaking growth for the UK’s most influential charities.”
Alex Kirk, Managing Director, Medialab, commented: “Alf’s new role cements our ambition to continue championing the charity sector. The charity landscape is ever changing, so it’s more important than ever that that we are addressing and answering client challenges in innovative and efficient ways to ensure our partners can grow income and deliver vital services. Alf stepping into this role will ensure that we have the full capabilities in order to do so.”
This internal promotion is part of a number of people updates in Medialab, following the appointments of Jess Talbot, Head of Planning and Jon Manning, Director of Advanced TV.
