The UK’s leading independent media agency, Medialab, has appointed Jon Manning as its Director of Advanced TV.

Previously Client Investment Director at Publicis-owned Starcom, Manning is responsible for helping Medialab’s clients navigate through the increasingly fragmented and complex world of Connected TV including BVOD, SVOD, AVOD, FAST.

The TV landscape is constantly evolving and Connected TV (CTV) is at the forefront of these changes. With over 67% of UK households already owning a CTV (Source: IAB UK) and the average time spent consuming digital content on the rise, Medialab is committed to delivering valuable audiences to our clients across all relevant platforms. Jon will further strengthen Medialab’s total TV solution, designing and delivering innovative product, collaborative partnerships and data driven results through Medialab’s Marketing Intelligence Platform, Apollo, guided by data-led investments, strong ROI and attribution.

Manning said: “I’m thrilled and incredibly excited to be joining Medialab. In what has been a tough few years for the industry, Medialab has bucked the trend, significantly growing its client, capability and talent base and has gone from strength to strength. I cannot wait to be part of that continued success story.”

“Alongside their brilliant reputation in TV, a big driving force behind that growth is Apollo, and I am looking forward to exploring the opportunities within the Advanced TV space that Apollo will enable, and drive media efficiencies and business results.”

Marcus Orme, Chief Executive, Medialab added: “Jon’s appointment is another significant milestone in Medialab’s growth throughout 2023. As part of that journey, our expert, granular and transparent TV planning and buying capabilities have gone from strength to strength and Jon’s expertise, reputation and leadership will take that to an even higher level, hand in hand with the significant TV and Digital Leadership already within the business.”

Manning has experience working on Lidl, Stellantis, Samsung and Reckitt Benckiser.

His appointment follows the recent announcement of Jess Talbot joining Medialab as its Head of Planning, as well as new business wins which include Standard Life and Marie Curie.
