As one of the fastest growing businesses in our sector we are now looking to recruit a Data Solutions Architect that can help lead the strategy and execution of our data technology vision, and the management of the applications that will support it.

We are looking for talent to help us continue dreaming big on the role of data tech at Medialab who can also architect the infrastructure that will make the vision a reality. The successful candidate should have ample knowledge of the data and digital media ecosystem and associated external vendors and tools, with the ability to maintain an advanced knowledge of new technologies and solutions that support the ambition.

This role is for an experienced, inspiring and ambitious leader to join our talented team, working with the Board to help deliver the next stage of Medialab’s growth, helping to design and implement the next stage of our data platform proposition, Apollo.

Our client partners operate largely in three categories; Charities, Finance and Direct to Consumer. This is a data literate business whose people are collectively motivated by client success.

Ideal skills, qualifications and experience:

– Experienced Solutions Architect / Data Engineer with track record of creating large data tech solutions. Minimum expectation of 7 years relevant experience.
– Excellent understanding of the data tech industry and relevant data tech solutions such as AWS, Adobe, Google, Salesforce, etc.
– Data transformation and scripting experience.
– Sufficient programming knowledge to manage developer projects; for example Python, Javascript, SQL, etc.
– Working understanding of digital marketing eco system.
– Experience developing software solutions.
– Familiar with industry data visualisation solutions.
– Ability to present complex propositions in a simple manner. Able to articulate big ideas in plain language.
– Management of tech partners and experience at managing outsourcing / insourcing process.
– Proven problem solver who can think on their feet and make it happen when it’s time to put pencils down.
– Has built high level client relationships including the C suite from the CEO to CTO.
– Experienced working alongside the board to drive forward their ambitions.
– Knowledge of media planning and buying business, preferably through experience in the industry.
– Experience working with internal/external dev teams and associated ways of working.
– Proven history in effective budget management, supervision, project management, process improvement, tracking budgets, self-development, planning, performance management.
– Experience with multiple methodologies.
– Strong project management and collaboration skills as required to manage internal and external teams working across multiple locations.
– Working knowledge of statistical techniques and predictive analytics also desirable.

Role description:

– Work with the board, data and digital teams to outline the vision for the future of data technology at Medialab.
– Architect the solutions and put in place the infrastructure that delivers the vision.
– Management of procurement or development, deployment and high-level support of Apollo and all other digital and traditional media applications that support Medialab.
– Ability to define and drive enhancements and fixes to existing or future Medialab applications, from a usage perspective. Managing the lifecycle of any change through internal development resource and contracted outsourced vendors.
– Meet regularly with clients and account teams to introduce new solutions as well as updates to current solutions.
– Report to Chief Planning Officer. Works in partnership with tech, digital, data science and planning teams to deliver products.
– Champion the existing Medialab Apollo toolkit of planning, buying optimization and post campaign attribution and analysis tools.
– Manage development of media and data applications in conjunction with key third parties & client business requirements. Ability to manage expectations on timelines, budget & capabilities with the client / client team in order to maintain a consistent message to clients.
– Ability to network across the agency to identify common issues and opportunities for process and workflow efficiencies through the use of technology. Develop key relationships with business leads across to keep them apprised of upcoming milestones and successes.
– Advanced project management skills and ability to set expectations in accordance with client requirements and agency goals, inclusive of building project and implementation plans and ability to identify barriers to success at the forefront of an engagement.
– Ability to recognize an opportunity to increase revenue for the agency through advanced technology and be able to lead the sales process from prospect to contract by aligning the right resources within the agency.
– Management of software vendor relationships.
– Lead a team of 5-10 people based in the UK.
