For the fifth year in a row, Medialab has been awarded Gold Accreditation from the IPA for our commitment to exceptional professional development programmes and investment in our team. This means we’ve maintained Platinum status for another year of sustained CPD excellence, by being Gold accredited for the last five years.
As CEO of Medialab, I’m incredibly proud that we have been able to maintain such a culture of learning and development as we have grown.
From day one, we have been people-first and values-led, with one of those values being centred around how we ‘help people flourish’. To be true to that, we support our people with the tools and knowledge they need to do their best work, as well as ensuring that we have a workplace culture in which they can thrive and grow.
Key factors that I think help make Medialab CPD Platinum worthy are:
- Consistent and thorough onboarding
Our onboarding process for new starters ensures that they have a clear and personalised induction plan which makes them feel welcomed, supported, and gives them the relevant training they need in their first few weeks. They also meet with myself and the rest of the Board to help ease them into their new role at Medialab and get to know key people in the business.
- A focus on the right training
We listen to what our people are asking for in terms of training, and tailor our CPD programme accordingly. For example, last year saw an increased focus on line manager training as well as regular lunch and learns covering key media. Taking on board our teams’ feedback ensures we provide the right training to help develop themselves personally, their teams, and the work they do for our clients.
- A culture of knowledge-sharing
Whether it’s presenting case studies and pitch documents in our weekly Collablabs, or an Excel Lunch and Learn session, our Medialabbers love to educate and train each other across their individual areas of expertise. It’s created a culture of knowledge-sharing, evidenced further by over 55% of our team being involved in mentoring.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank our exceptional Medialabbers, who always immerse themselves in our training and development initiatives and share and apply their learnings.
